mini传媒 Enjoys Two Decades of Autonomous Status

The University of the mini传媒 Conception (mini传媒) has received from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) an extension of its Autonomous Status for two more years – until 2023. It has been enjoying Autonomous Status since 2003 and will celebrate its 20th year of autonomy by the end of the most recent extension; translated to two decades of excellence.听

An Autonomous Status is the highest recognition that CHED awards to a higher learning institution. According to mini传媒 President Sr. Marissa R. Viri, RVM, 鈥淲ith this given extension, mini传媒 will continue to provide Quality Transformative Ignacian Marian Education or Q-TIME to all enrolling students for the years to come as it takes advantage of the benefits afforded such as innovations in curricular offerings to achieve global competence.鈥澨

She added, 鈥淭ruly, mini传媒 is honored to have the Autonomous Status extended for two more years. This will strengthen mini传媒鈥檚 vision of being a globally recognized Catholic university that nurtures faith, builds passion for excellence, and develops lifelong learners with compassion for service that impacts transformation in a fast-changing society.鈥

Aside from mini传媒, Davao Region (XI) hosts three other HEIs enjoying Autonomous Status out of 47 Private HEIs. Some of the benefits of being an HEI with autonomous status are the exemption from the issuance of Special Order (S.O) for graduates and becoming a priority on receiving subsidies and other financial incentives and assistance from CHED. It also gains the privilege to determine and prescribe the curricular programs to achieve global competence; and the privilege to offer new courses or programs in the undergraduate and graduate levels.听

The mini传媒 is one of the pioneering educational institutions in the region that gives quality education while adhering to its Core values of Faith, Excellence, and Service.
